One of the greatest evidences of God's presence in our lives is divine direction. God does not merely want to save us and leave us to figure out life by ourselves. He desires to lead us. .
“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it.”
— Isaiah 30:21 (KJV)
Many times, we ask God for a miracle when what we really need is direction.
The wrong decision can create years of unnecessary difficulty, while the right direction can save us from problems we never needed to experience.
Proverbs 3 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean entirely on our own understanding. When we acknowledge Him, He promises to direct our paths.
Divine direction does not always come through a dramatic voice from heaven. God can guide us through His Word, the leading of the Holy Spirit, wise counsel, circumstances, and godly wisdom.
This is why we must develop the discipline of listening.
Sometimes God says go.
Sometimes He says wait.
Sometimes He says stop.
And sometimes He says not yet.
The fact that God is silent does not mean that He has abandoned you. Sometimes waiting is part of His direction.
When you allow God to lead your decisions, you begin to see evidence of His presence in the path your life takes.
Don't be so desperate to move that you move without God.
Direction is better than speed.
It is better to arrive late at the right destination than to arrive early at the wrong one.

- Have I been asking God for direction concerning an important decision?
- Am I willing to wait when God says wait?
- Do I consult God's Word before making major decisions?
Prayer
Father, I surrender my plans and decisions to You. Order my steps and give me clarity. Deliver me from decisions driven by fear, pressure, impatience, or human wisdom. Teach me to recognize Your direction and give me the courage to follow it. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Daily Declaration
God directs my steps.
I will not be ruled by confusion.
I trust God's wisdom above my own.
I hear His direction and obey His leading.
My steps are ordered by the Lord.
